In India, Summer Vacation varies in duration. This is because India is a vast country and different parts of the country face different climatic conditions at the same time. In northern India, school ends in mid-May and begins by the last week of June, except in the Kashmir valley where the summer vacation is only for ten days with a long winter break from mid-December to the end of February. However, in colleges, the duration can go back to 2 months, basically to give way to internship programmes.
